No. IMHO, at 200,000 miles, if you're going to have the transmission out, it should be completely rebuilt. That means clutches, bands, seals, etc. Probably a new torque converter while you're at it. If you were doing the work yourself, to solve a problem, you might consider just repairing a problem in the valve body. Otherwise not.
2003 Passat possible transmission slipping? I have a 2003 Passat with the v6 engine. I purchased the car about 3 years ago from a family member and I knew going in that there was a lack of maintenance and several seasons of the car sitting unused in winter. I did the rear brakes and rotors myself last summer and the front brakes and rotors this
I was told from a VW mechanic that are particular model of Passat(1.8L Turbo Automatic) has a sealed transmission case. Being the reason there is no dipstick for checking the transmission and actually nowhere to fill transmission fluid either. Other then a small over flow valve om transmissions ass end.
I have a 2002 VW Passat 1.8T front wheel drive automatic transmission. No transmission problem prior to this incident. Went to pick up engine oil and oil filter and left cousin to drain engine oil and later found out he drained the transmission fluid without me knowing until I drove the car about a block down the street and the transmission

Automatic transmission dont shift when warm. I have just parchased my Passat 1.8T triptronic with 102 k. replacing the turbo. The problem is: When the engine is cold, the transmission shift normally without any problems. When the engine starts to heat , say 20 to 30 minutes in transit, the shifts starting to be more difficult, where sometimes
The torque converter now stays locked all of the time, but I have not driven more than 45 minutes at a time (at warm temps too). The engagement is also much stronger as it locks and the rpm drop quickly. There is some minor flaring under hard throttle, but no more than 200 rpm. It had been 400-500 rpm at it's worst.

Transmission fluid will drain out of the fill plug if the fluid is cold and the engine not running. So, adding the two amounts together your not far off. As Tom mentioned, follow the link to the fluid replacement. I did this very recently, filter and Valvoline Maxlife fluid from pepboys. under $100.

Vacuum hose leaks – B5. ABS control module failure. MAF sensor failure. 1. Ignition Coil Pack Failure. Premature ignition coil pack failure is common on all B5/B5.5 Passat engines. Coil packs transform the battery’s lower voltage into a high voltage needed by the spark plugs to initiate engine combustion.
I purchased VCDS from ross-tech and did the auto scan. I believe the issue is the TCM. I removed all the seats and carpet before running the autoscan, thats why the airbag issues came up on it I believe. The main issue is the TCM from what I am seeing. The code I am worried about is P0603. The old TCM was wet along with all of the wiring going
